Born Wellington, May 1965. Dabbled in a range of sports, from the traditional school boy rugby, soccer and softball through to sky diving and swinging on a side car at Te Marua. Currently registered with each and every Accident and Emergency ward in the general Wellington area - injury history includes dislocated and broken bones, snapped archilles, and suspected broken neck. Started mountain biking as a fat (80kg) 28 year old, progressing to road cycling, running and then kayaking when training for the 2002 and 2003 Coast to Coast. 2003 Coast to Coast weight was a respectable 65 kgs.
